What motivated you to earn the Seal of Biliteracy?

Because I come from an international background, language has always been a big part of my identity. Growing up around multiple cultures made me appreciate how powerful it is to communicate across communities, and I wanted my skills to be formally recognized. My experience learning French has prepared me to engage confidently in global and academic environments. I saw that earning the Seal would only benefit me for my future endeavors.

What are your plans after high school?

I plan to attend the University of Kansas to study Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology with a minor in Journalism on the pre-med track. After that, I want to go to medical school and use what I’ve learned to work as a humanitarian aid doctor.

As I pursue a future in medicine and humanitarian aid, I plan to use my French proficiency to better serve the diverse and underserved communities, especially within the francophone regions. The Seal of Biliteracy reflects my commitment to effective communication in languages other than my mother tongue, which will serve well in my field of work.
