Garinger Scholarship

NOMINEES MUST:

  • be a student or former student from a Kansas High school who is studying a foreign language at a Kansas community college, college, or university.
  • have excelled in the study of a foreign language for at least two years in secondary school.
  • be recommended by his or her teacher who is a current member of KSWLA.
  • enroll in a foreign language course during the academic year the scholarship is awarded.

 

The scholarship is $500.



HOW TO SUBMIT A NOMINATION:

  • Nominating teachers must complete and submit the form below.
  • The nominated student must submit a brief written narrative (to the Past President, by mail or e-mail) explaining why he or she desires to continue foreign language studies. 
  • Nominations should be submitted by June 1 for the following academic year.
  • The winner will be honored at the conference banquet held at the KSWLA Annual Fall Conference in November.
