About Me

I graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a B.A. in Spanish.  During my time at NWU, I was an exchange student in Córdoba, Argentina.  While there, I traveled to Uruguay, Bolivia and crossed the Andes to Chile.  I was a People to People Student Ambassador Teacher Leader for three years which took me to Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, Wales, England, France, Italy, Belgium and Holland.

I have been teaching Spanish in the Blue Valley School District since 2002 and truly enjoy my career as a teacher and mentor!  I was a cheerleading sponsor and have been a mentor teacher to first and second-year teachers.  I am the Department Chair of World Languages at Blue Valley Southwest.  I acheieved National Board Certificiation in 2007 and it was one of the most challenging, but rewarding experiences of my teaching career.  I highly encourage you to think about becoming an NBCT!

I look forward to meeting our online 'community' and getting inspired through the sharing of best practices!
